Travel Budget to Tokyo

Hello Everyone

My wife and I are traveling to Tokyo in March. We are very excited !!!! We put together a budget that we think should give us enough room to be comfortable. We would like opinions from those of you who have experience with Japanese expenses. We already booked our hotel and flights through expedia.

Food Budget: 2500 USD for 6 days total!!
Gifts and Adventures: 2500 USD
Travel around the city ( I.E. trains, taxis if we must, buses) 700 USD

From what I can see, unless you are living the high life and eat in Michelin-rated restaurants, your food budget is quite high ($200/head/day). As far as gifts and omiyage (souvenirs), $400/day is quite a bit as well. But that depends on what you want to buy. Transport is the same. $100/day for trains and cabs is too much unless you are darting from end to end in a cab and you take that cab everywhere.
