Yak tattoos tend to be very traditional images...dragons, cherry blossums, thunder and lightning demons, etc. No kanji. You have short-sleeve and long-sleeve styles, and usually blanket any area of the upper-body covered by clothing.

Many Yaks get thier tattoos in the "traditional syle" with needles dipped in ink and tapped in by hand. This takes a long time, partially because of the feverish response of the human body.

i've actually found a place in Tokyo that did traditional style tap tattoos

said that 80% or so just give up on them after a while, so you gota put a deposit down for your next session.

I love tattoos but I don't have any yet. Even though I'm 18 and can get one without my parents consent (even though some places still want it), one I don't have the money to get a tattoo and two my parents would kill me if I came home with one unless I got a small one somewhere they would never see. But yes I do plan to get a few tattoos one day.
