Batteries in Japan

I am planning to go to Japan next year, and will be taking my digital camera along. But it isn't one that can recharge by plugging into an outlet, I have to put in actual batteries to operate. It also does use a lot of power really fast too. So I was just wondering if the batteries in Japan (size AA) are any cheaper than the same ones in the United States. Because if they are much more expensive, then I'd just buy a whole bunch before heading there.

So does anyone know if they are more expensive or about the same price?
