I'm not too thrilled with giving up finger prints and my picture during my next trip. However, its not my country and I'm expected to obey their laws.

All that said, I wonder how it will go over if the US press starts to be critical of the policy? How will it affect tourism? I don't think you'll hear much about it until around Nov 20th. I'm just curious to see how it is regarded in the press over here.....

tbh, I kinda fall into the extremist opinion on this one (and for that I apologise) but I honestly think it is incredibly racist (gaijin are terrorists/criminals) to only take these measures for foreigners despite 2 important facts:

1) the already incredibly low crime rate here is still falling

2) there has NEVER been a terrorist attack on Japan by non-Japanese in the history of mankind

To me, it just feels like an excuse to chisel away at what little rights we gaijin still have...

Anyway thats besides the point. I think most countries should have these measures incase a criminal tries to escape to countries without this security measures. USA has it but I have no problem with that, gave me a false sense of security at least haha. Does this mean america makes foreigners feel they have little rights as well? I think not.

Killing thousands of innocent people? If that isn't terrorism I don't know what is.

i personally haven't had to deal with this, but when all the japanese tourist come to hawaii, they have to get their finger prints taken and i believe that their photos are also taken.
