Quite interesting observation, but not very accurate, IMHO. ;-) What would you say if you see my series/study about uchimata (the position of women's feet towards uchi 'home')?

The huge importance, in Japan, of feet position, fancy/luxury shoes is absolutely amazing; and literally captivating for a photographer's eye.

Cheers.

First trip - Photography - 02-17-2010, 10:06 AM

Thank you all for your comments.

Re portraits: I never ask permission when I want a candid street shot/portrait, but, when I have eyes contact, I make a smile and a say thank you. Usually works perfectly, especially in Japan.

Cheers.

Thanks, Kylie.

I had only a few days and spent them all in Tokyo (and Yokohama). Actually, I would no hesitate in spending a lot more days in this city... ;-)

Again, it is a great place for a photographer.

Cheers,
Gérald
