The Onsen
|
We have a lot of hot springs here in Croatia, but they're not nearly as developed (read: nice) as the one in these pictures is.
|
Nice pictures, will be sure to hit the hot spring baths, next time im in Japan :)
|
man those hot spring look nice to relax on i feel like i wanna jump in one right now :)
|
Also great for peeking over the fence ^^;

While staying at the Resort Olivean on Shososhima (all the Osaka high rollers bring their girlfriends to this place... they only rent Bently's and have a private heliport! Super fancy!) I checked out their world-famous onsen. The resort owner spent over 2.5 million dollars JUST TO DRILL to hit the spring! The water is over 250 million years old... It felt AMAZINGGGG... Most relaxing experience of my life... especially the outdoor section that overlooks the Japan Inland Sea!
Pics up once I get on my other computer. I promise :). I have a TON of pics from my trip to Japan, if anyone wants the link to where I have them posted... |
Gotta love onsen :D
Kyushu is full of them. Honestly, Oita and Kumamoto, ONSEN IPPAI! |

I have one question, why do people put Towel on their heads while they are bathing in the Onsen?

=D oh now i get it thanks for posting. I guess I need a towel on my head before bathing in the Onsen then.
|
Don't forget to raise before getting in the hot spring or tub. and never drain the water. another reason why you clean your self out side the tub is because it only there for relaxation and people share the bath water. =) Suds in the tub are bad hehehehe. Just think of it as an american hot tub a lot of people also go in there bathing suits to these things.
|
it looks so relaxing and peacefull carefull not to fall asleep though :)
|
>_> I rarely see people falling asleep in the onsen. Just sink half of their head in the water and start bubbling...
|
This is a different kind of Onsen :
I've added english subs for the benefit of non-francophones ^^; |
the links not working for me, can you post up a url?
ok , so NOW it works :o |

No way! I'm not peeking! TT_TT I would not do things that are shameful and have Mimi-chan think poorly of me. T_T |

Hmm.. I wonder what will happen if we get out of that Onsen during winter o.o;

Lol i would never make it to the tub in my towel there snow that means it FN cold out ther and it right next to the spring. meaning the heat is only where the steam is and the water. *dye tring to make it to the spring* To cold |
|
looks good to me
When I visited Japan, I went to a few onsens, and it's very relaxing, ...that is after you get over being naked in front of a bunch of other men!

Very pretty pictures. How hot is the water?
|
Don't worry, you would be able to make it out there in the winter I think. I sometimes use hot tubs (similar to onsen) in Winter and I make it, barely
|
I had some excellent time in the onsens and took some pictures.
Here I am in the highest level onsen called a rotenburo. I had to hike for 25 kilometers before I found the natural and elusive rotenburo: Also, here is a picture that my girlfriend took inside the ladies onsen up on Mt Winaki: Finally, my girlfriend took a picture inside a waterfall-type of onsen near Niigata prefecture set deep in the Japanese Arupusu: Nakedness is very common in Japan and people don't associate sex with nakedness as they do in the west. People are not ashamed of their bodies as they are in Western countries and this is part of the beauty of Japan. Please notice that the woman with small breasts in the picture is wearing a ceremonial octopus on her head for bathing. |
That is exactly what Kepahl and I were doing yesterday after our skiing weekend.
Unfortunately I didn't have my camera handy. |
Could someone be so kind to direct me to the mixed bathing onsens?
I would very much like to go and met with some ladies there. |
