I agree, anime and manga artists here in the UK really are very few and far between (along with anime and manga franchises in general) because it's no way near as popular a genre of entertainment and interest as it is in Japan (where it all started from the beginning) and of course the USA, where even those guys are much more into it than we are...It's a shame really

WE NEED MANY MORE DIE-HARD BRITISH MANGA/ANIME ARTISTS/FANS!!!

I would like to, but since I probably never will I play to be a writer, which I like even more.
My next plan is to find a manga artist to draw out my stories. Where do you go to do that?

Someday I'll be famous

I've already got a few manga pretty close in the making. >.< The farthest I've done is panels at a convention about manga, which helped spread word about mine. If you go to a con, talk to as many artists you can, and make friends with them. It will prove VERY useful for tips, and a good head start.

Happiness is just a word to me, and it might have meant a thing or two if I had known the difference

Loneliness, another parody, and my life another smoking gun, a sign of my indifference

I hope to get fanart! xD
I really want to be a manga artist too! Im 13, and I'm not Japanese, but have you ever heard of Meg Cabot? A while ago she wrote a novel called Avalon High, and now recently, she drew it in manga edition, and Tokyopop published it, and she is not japanese! which goes to prove that anyone can do it, as long as theyre committed.

In all honesty, being a manga artist would be really cool.

Sadly, I couldn't draw my way out of a sketchbook, so I'll stick to writing.

Though along those lines, I have dabbeled in thinking about writing for a comic/manga.

I would love to be a manga artist one day! It's like a dream...except in the dream I would be able to use ink without spilling it everywhere.
