Hands used to be hard but now they are not too bad. I really need to practice backgrounds though, I'm sure I'm not too bad though.

sorry been busy with errandz, job, so much , so much. but ill post the face tutorial when i can. ive been working on making a hands, arm and legs tutorial. but the easiest way to draw hands ill try and explain the best i can.

when you draw hands start:

by making a square [] but give it some dimension. like 3d. when doing fingers, at the knuckles (Base of fingers) draw circles to show the knuckle bones. and do the same with the joints in the fingers.
O
when connecting the circles use lines in the shape of bones )( . when adding meat and skin , the areas curve along the circle joints. O

be sure to note that at the base of the fingers (The knuckles) the palm curves like a sad face ( . but also know that the thumb sticks out from the palm a little. for the thumb make a curve from the base of the thumb to the knuckles as shown in my cheap little example.

/ \
(

ill finish my tutorial as soon as possible.

Here's something that my bro told me about manga-size paper.

Quote:
If you are doing Manga on Manga-sized paper you should get used to thinking in MM, not inches. 12x11 3/4 is too small for American comics which are drawn on 11x17inch paper. The manga sized paper is 257mm(10 3/16) x 361mm (14 3/16). The safe zone where all the word balloons need fit into is 180mm x 270mm. Get some swimming lessons before you dive in.

I remember seeing some manga paper in a book store that I go to all the time. I did consider buying some the next time I got a little $$...as of right now, I'm broke! LOL

How much is the paper over there? I managed to finally give in and buy some Maru pen nibs at Akadot retail. They also sell some B4 size paper as well. For a good price too. I might have to buy paper from them soon.

As my bro once put it: "Never let a budget keep you from making a good comic. Just eat less" lol ^-^

Well...I can't really remember how much the paper was....It's been a while since I went. If I do happen to stop by there anytime soon, I'll let you know.

ok sounds good.

Here's a new one. Most frustrating thing about drawing manga, keeping the drawing part rolling without being distracted or feeling lost and giving up lol. That happened to me a couple of times, but this time, I won't let it get the best of me

Backgrounds are time-consuming, but it pays off once you nail it down. It'll make a huge difference to your manga.
