Kyogen Paper Mache Mask - 03-04-2012, 12:42 PM

Hello,

I found this mask and noticed the markings on the back. I don't think it is an actual mask. Instead I believe it is just wall art. Can anyone help me with the markings inside. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you

At the top, it says "husband and wife" or "married couple".

Near the string, I have no idea what it says. Pics from different angles might help.

Further questions should be asked on Japanologic Forums • Portal instead of here as Japan Forum is a dying website as you can easily see. We have all moved there.

[font="Times New Roman"]Thank you so much for your reply. I have included a closer image of the second marking. I will also put further questions on Japanologic.
