Japanese Painting - 06-18-2010, 01:53 AM

I have a Japanese Painting of a man walking through the rain.
The painting is sealed/stamped in the lower left hand corner with a red circle.
Does anyone know who painted this & when it was done?
I can email pictures if needed.
Thanks,
Jim

almost all painting are "sealed" with a red stamp. That is the artist's stamp. Post pics if you want help.

I have seen that All the old and antic painting are sealed with the red stamp. So You don't worry about it. If You will also see other paintings and check it very well. I am sure that The paintings will be sealed with the red stamp.

hey all,

I saw a subject dedicated to Jap. paintings so I thought I ll jump in. If you can post the pic. perhaps we can help.

Here is a bamboo 墨絵 with kana text that reads: た〈多)けのおと, written yesterday by my humble self. I mostly study calligraphy, but sometimes I wonder off. Hope you like it.

This is really a nice painting, well I think that Japanese paintings and painters representing the best and most classic works, The art of Japanese painting is full of mesmerizing Asian charm when you look at it from a purely decorative view, I really like Japanese painting.

This is really a beautiful painting, and I think that the Japanese painters and paintings are works better and more classic, and I love drawing and Japanese art as well.
