Need Help Identifying an Antique Plate
4 Attachment(s)
hi all. i was doing some research on the internet on asian pottery, and happened on this site. I was hoping someone here could help me identify this plate. my grandmother gave it to me over the easter weekend, and i know nothing about it...except that it is old. any help would be greatly appreciated. also, if you knew a ballpark value, that would be great as well. kind regards, ac.

well... i pretty much believe no one on this Forum knows anything about that plate...
U need to go, to an auction house where they also give things value.. |
im not too sure on stuff like the value; but i can tell you it seems to be a depiction of the 7 gods of fortune.... i'll see if i can find some more links on them for you :)

I'm a professional potter. Lots of time in Japan. Don't recognise that piece right off. The seal ends with yama (= mountain). Don't know the first Kanji on that. Sorry. The only pottery location that I am remembering with "mountain" as the last part is Onta Sarayama (sarayama=plate mountain). BUT that is NOT anything close to the mingei / folk tradition of Onta yaki.
