Hair products

What is the best to style hair with that wont leave hair hard like gel and has more hold than mousse? I seen this one comercial awhile ago that had these 2 Japanese students, but forgot what the product was called.

I use Gatsby moving rubber. I like the pink or the green box the best. When u use it sparingly it doesnt get your hair sticky but holds well. If it does get sticky, Iuse Gatsby softening water.(its a spray bottle) here's a commercial for Gatsby YouTube - asian mullet hairstyle #4
I hope it helps

Thats pretty cool. How long does the stuff usualy last? (the hold and the product itself)

MariYa 01-14-2008 12:02 AM

well, the style holds all day and the next day u can just use your fingers to fix the style and thats it. the product lasts pretty long. I just got mine and I used only about a teaspoon of it . I wash my hair every 3 days and I got my gatsby about 2 weeks ago SO I used it 4 times

Aveda "self control stick". its sort of a waxy substance and it smells HEAVENLY. like spices and nuts...mmm sooo good. it wont leave your hair goopy or sticky or hard. I loved it when i had short hair.

I'll have to check them out. Just curious about something, any rules about showering? What I mean is, do I just wash my hair as usual and then style it afterwards. (after the product is already in hair)

when i had short hair, i used hair glue. you can find it at wal-mart, and some drugstores...

I believe my texture of hair won't work with these products...for how I long for jpop hair styles.

Ithe only think that can hold my hair is pump it up. But it leaves your hair rock hard.

What is the ideal hair type? Mine is straight and only slightly wavy *growing hair out and can be put into a pony tail*

That stuff is great. I like the grey one, as it is less shiny...

Akoni 01-16-2008 02:47 AM

Where can you find the stuff?

Thanks! I think the green and purple one would work best for my hair. (medium)

Hair stuffs

I love to use Beyond The Zone hair cement. It holds your hair solid stiff, but your hair will have a light and feathery texture to it. Its so amazing!!!!! Plus the good thing is you can but it in two different sizes. The normal and mini travel size. I love the travel size when I'm out and about and crash at somebody's house and I have it with me for quick touch ups!

^ pics? I wanna see how it styles x3

I suggest styling wax. I use and I LOVE it! I don't know how I ever lived without it. I can't believe nobody suggested it yet either.
Anyway, it's not extremely dramatic unless you want to use a lot to do spikes, and it makes the hair look super cool especially on strait hair. And it's not like gell at all with the getting hard and stuff. It doesn't make hair look any more or less shiny and hairy.
I got it at the salon I went to to cut my hair, but I'm sure you can find some in Walmart.
However, you do have to determine the amount of strength you want in the wax. I'd go for the weaker stuff if your hair is longer. The stronger stuff just gets in the way if you're not sticking your hair straight up.
If you need an example of what it does, here's a pic of me right after I put it in my hair:

Happy Styling <3
