There are Yakuza women, rare, but not non-existant.

Most never get to any serior status i.e. become an onee-san.

In the early 80's the Kumicho of the Yamaguchi-gumi clan Kazuo Taoka was assassinated. And for a short time his wife, Fumiko Taoka acted as the Kumicho. This is the highest recorded rank that a woman has ever reached in the Yakuza heirarchy. Of course she oly acted as Kumicho until Masahisa Takenaka was selected.

As far as how female Yakuza look....you're guess is as good as mine.....

Besides not looking yakuza at all - They look a whole lot more male than female to me.

I didn't think there were.

I always thought that look was more like a geisha style?

someone in a thread said their friend translated the article, and said it was a female yakuza, that's the only reason I asked.
