Ok... hi! im RYO...
The whole reason for this thread is the fact that there isn't enough people dressing like the people in harajuku or in lolita fashion... i wanted to get the people who are struggling like me with the fact that there isn't ENOUGH culture in the us... my mother is alsway bothering me that "Oh, no one wears that here" or something of that nature, and i want to dress awesome like the people in harajuku and everywhere else, for that matter.... ![]() ~ICHIGO OVERLOAD!!!~ ![]() ![]()

yea, i guess that the us is bigger than japan, but it still seems where i am at, in michigan, there isnt many japanese culture followers... i wish there were, so my friends wouldn't question "why are you smoking a cigarette with that stupid frilly skirt and shirt with a piggy on it? it just makes you look really immature..."
~My friends dont definately get the amount of culture that is in all our japanese-loving lives, but i understand where they are coming from, they are just leading boring lives... ![]() ~ICHIGO OVERLOAD!!!~ ![]() ![]()

Everywhere I've seen harajuku or Lolita, it's always been at Anime Conventions.
You can always try surfing the net for some places hopefully in the US or around your area. .: Sister- Kurtfu22 :.

yes, i guess i could, but its more funner if i find my own places to shop, not where everyone goes to shop, because i HATE people who mock and copy me... it happens alot and those "friends" all end up as being not my friends no more.... >.<

my mother doesnt appreciate the fact that we are all different, and that we all have different styles of dress... she thinks that americans have to dress like americans, but i dont believe in that fact. If we all dressed the same, there would be no culture... and without culture, then i believe that every society would be very boring...
I dress the way i want, not the way people tell me how to... ![]() ~ICHIGO OVERLOAD!!!~ ![]() ![]()

"must dress like Americans" haha, thats a good one... Considering that "true" Americans were the Native-Americans and the fact the the whole of America is really a variaty of other cultures that are mainly of Euro decent. There is no such thing as dressing "American". xD Anyway, all technicality aside....yah, parents usualy always have fashion issues. lmao, like who would honestly wear those 50's poodle skirts anymore? Fashions come and go, no reason to hate one the next gen's fashion sence and preach how wrong it is - blah blah blah. Least Harajuku and Lolita doesnt look like the GOD AWFUL "fashion" of the 80's. Talk about hella tacky. o0
