I would appreciate one as well. The last pair I picked up in Los Angeles turned out to be very poor quality. The only good internet based shops I have found so far do not ship internationally and my one source in the US retired and closed his shop.

Here

They sell Geta, Zori, other apparel, and I bought a personalized Hanko from them, it works great.

i just got a pair of geta but i got them cheaper on german ebay (eBay: Neue und gebrauchte Elektronikartikel, Autos, Kleidung, Sammlerstücke, Sportartikel und mehr – alles zu günstigen Preisen) it was fun trying to figure stuff out cuz i don't speak a lot of german :P anyway so thanks anyway for your help :D

Thanks for the all the references, everyone. My lame pair I replace in LA last winter just developed a linear split, and not even where the hole is drilled.

Yuujiro,
I will be there for the next festival, so I will look for them. But if you come across the vendor's name, let me know. You know I will trek across a few mile to get what I want.

Here's an internet/eBay store that sells various types of geta:
eBay Store - REFUSE TO BE USUAL: GETA PLATFORM

Incidentally I'm UK-based and have bought a few things from there, their service has always been really good. :)

In response to the question of the level of comfort when wearing geta, I'd say no - they're not particularly comfortable at all (especially over long periods of time). They take a bit of getting used to since they are so solid and don't flex at all, unlike most other footwear. However if you've ever worn clogs and found them comfortable then you'll probably have no trouble at all! LOL :D
Don't let me put you off though, I still love geta and would like to try other types than the pair I've got (mine are closest in shape to the patent ones in the link).
