I just bought one of the most beautiful, if not, the most beautiful furisode that I've ever seen on Ebay for less than 100 Euro (approx. 150 US Dollar)!

Detailed information

So now I want to ask for some advice. You see, I am not good at colormatching (read: I'm BAD at colormatching ^^; ), so I want to ask what color obi, obijime, obiage and eri-sugata(or nagajuban) I should get.

I was thinking of something pink, because the furisode itself is partly pink. I know the eri of the eri-sugata/nagajuban is usually white, but the color of the furisode is already white, so I was wondering if I should take another color.( I can, of course, also make the collar myself, because it's seems really easy, but I still need to know the color)

For the ones who don't know what I'm talking about:

Kimono FAQ

Thanks in advance!

I have a question! I am wanting to wear something traditional Japanese to my senior prom this year. What should I wear, a furisode, a kimono, or a yukata? And where could I find one appropriate for this event that comes in a plus size?

I'd go with a furisode..they're gorgeous, and it would fit you if you're not married. For your second question...I would just try googling it. ;)

I'm making one for a Kabuki production that my club is doing. I've found that it's not the easiest thing to do on the face of the planet.

I wore a furisode (I hope that's the correct term) to my prom. It was so much fun! I was the first kid in my school to ever wear a non-American outfit in my school, especially to prom. It took about three weeks but, my Aunt graciously hand sewed my prom outfit. My date's was made at a sewing shop near his house. Here's the pictures:

I loved the pics! Did your aunt use silk? I love the detail in it!
