Use wax or styling gum, otherwise it'll look greasy.

let it dry up and use wax to get it up..
the best way is to bend over with you head to the ground and put the wax in.
just let it look messy!

I would recommend that after washing your hair, lightly blow dry your hair upwards, so that its drys sticking up, then refine the style with matte style texturising wax and straightening a little here and there to define the "spikes".

The blow drying it up technique works wonders. I used to do it when I wore my hair spiked all over, Sid Vicious, style, ^-^. The blow-drying it up means it's basically 'set' that way, so it will never droop down or drop. C;
