Break dancing in Japan - 06-11-2007, 12:55 PM

didnt really know where to post this so, hope its okay here.

I've searched all over japan to find breakdancers, and with some help with international Bboy websites and stuff i found some nice locations.

Mizonochi is the place to be! tons of dancers of all styles and they have the sickest clothing. Sadly i didnt bring my camera last time i went but im going again this weekend.

But b4 then i was dancing in random spots in Harajuku and Roppongi.

There is also a place i need to check out in Shinjuku, i heard they dance in front of a big building with mirrors. But from what i hear its mainly popers.

There is a store call Topnation in Shibuya that sells bboy clothing and gear.

i picked up some elbow pads there and got to talk to the owner, Taro aka Dj Kogataro. he dj'ed for some realy famous break dance events in Tokyo and he showed me all of the events going on.

This year ill be going to Battle of the year Japan! * kinda like the preliminaries to get into the Real BOTY in Germany*

n e ways here are some clips of me dancing around Tokyo
First 2 are harajuku on random days, and the last one is at Jamaica Festival =)

Thanks for the info - interesting. I don't see too much breakdancing around Harajuku, but sometimes you see Rhythm Sneakers practicing out on Koen Dori on the weekends.

I've seen the break dancing contest they have each year on the stage out at the Yoyogi end of Koen Dori - is that Battle of the year Japan or some other event?
