I LOVE ganguro and every aspect of it <3 Yamanba is maybe not something I'd like to try on myself, but one day I'll definitely get a tan and wear truckloads of makeup and some cute clothes! At the moment, though, I have to stick with ganjiro until I prove to my mom that I can wear ganguro without looking like a whore. ToT I was a bit scared and creeped out at first, too, but in the end, I ended up loving the fashion. Let's go gals~! Curtsy while thinking about what to say, it saves time.

All I have to say is:
Most people in Japan are very extreme when they love something. In Ganguro fashion, really dark skin and really bleach hair is their passion. It may not look pretty to everyone, but what is the universal standard for beauty? They're just being unique in their own way. There's no reason for violence or extremely rude comments. it think its a little strange but i respect it. someone who thinks what i like/do is strange and said it rudely i would be offended. i already have a tan. im half n half (B+W) i dont really grasp to concept of wanting to be darker but i would love to be lighter so i guess it the never ending you want what isnt natural to you.

it's awesome!!! the only thing is i don think i would go that tan...... i always cry out with the music filled with memories of the four seasons....

Ganguro seems kind of weird to me, but I wouldn't knock them for it. It's probably no different than someone of another country dressing in an Asian country's style or emulating a Hispanic country, etc. As for the clothes...too much going on for me. The clothes are too busy. lol
The only thing about Ganguro or Manba (think that's what it is when you really darken the skin) is the origin. If I recall correctly, they were going on about how they were emulating the girls in LA with tans. To me, they're just trying to be black in skin tone. Why is it so bad to say or admit that?

umm....i actually really like it. i've always wanted to get some white makeup and do myself up ganguro style. i'm pretty sure i'll do it at least once in my lifetime. no lie i seriously love how crazy and outrageous it looks and the whole point is to stand out and they definitely do.^^
