Thumbs up Dressing harajuku - 08-15-2007, 08:25 PM

Ok I'm a newbie..........

But yeah do it!
I went all through school getting stares and comments. Since I left I have had so many people come up to me and say 'I wish I had the guts to dress like you!' Screw other people. I live in the U.K mostly populated by chavs and people who only care what 'The Beckhams' are wearing this week. There is no need for that.

Wear what you want!
I wear what I find nice tbh
Once i wore my leopard print jacket, white drainpipes, white dollyshoes with a black belt with a star on it and my hair spiked out with purple contact lenses in.
I wish I got a pic
Go for it

My parents first of all wouldn't buy anything like that for me second they would burn the cloths then kill me if they saw me wearing it. Especial black stuff. They have real issues about black being "evil" it's a color for goodness sake!

If you want to dress that way than you should, regardless of what people think. Even if it's not the trend in America you can still wear it if you have enough confidence.

Believe me, you have to learn to just not care.
Wear what you want, screw other people and what they think.
As long as you like it, then it's ok. ^_^
And think about it, even though the Harajuku style is very popular in Japan, there are those who frown upon it.
Just like with the goth style(which is world wide.) there are MANY people who dress "goth" even though people think it's "weird" or whatever.
But again, like I said...if you like it wear it, who cares what people say. ^_^

Should I take the chance and dress harajuku/japanese style?
I thought people in the US were more open for that, I live in the Netherlands and I also dress harajuku (I dress lolita, oshare kei, visual kei enz.) It's not always nice..when I go shopping with my friend people are staring at us, and we also were attacked by a group of girls..anyway I think you should try it ^^ there are lots of people who like to wear it but they are too afraid.. btw I'm scared now too >_< next year I'm going to a new school..but I have to be brave ^^
