Minamoto Kitchoan

One of my most favorite places to visit here in NYC is Minamoto Kitchoan - this Japanese wagashi store across the street from Rockefeller Center (next to where Kinokuniya's original store used to be).

Anyone one ever visit and have any good recommendations on which wagashi to try?

I don't know names of wagashi...so I can't recommend particular one.

Dorayaki

I love Dorayaki! :)

Same!!! I like dorayaki, too:)

I googled "wagashi", and I'm reminded of some.

The attracting wagashi I want to eat now is mizuyokan.

What kind of stuff do they sell there?

I don't know the shop, but found it sells wagashi.

Kunitokotachi,

they sell every type of wagashi you can think of - both individually and as pre-wrapped gift sets - they also have a small seating area in the back where you can enjoy your gourmey Japanese pastries. They also sell a few adorable goods.

Prices range from $1.50 to $4.00 for individual pastries - perfect for when you want a little dessert. Many of the desserts contain red-brean cake or white-bean cake and some contain mochi.

It's definitely worth visiting. Go to 49th Street off of 5th Avenue - you'll find it a little way past the Lacoste store.
