Favorite Sake

I've tried sake before and I didn't like it very much. That was a few years ago. I've been wondering if maybe I just had a bad brand. Kind of like how I hate Bud but love Kirin. So to the point....

What is your favorite brand of Sake? What do you recommend? What is the flavor of your faves like?

Thankz:ywave:

Sake being a third choice for me usually, my preference leaned toward cold unfiltered varieties, until a Sake tasting a few weeks ago. Karen "Coy" is quite good, though a bit sweeter than most sake I have tried.

Of course when someone's favorite alcohol is umeshu, you can tell I prefer sweet wines. :p
Just can't explain my fondness for soju though.

Try some

Cold Sake if you had warm before. The Gekkeikan is usually used as a house sake because it's cheap and doesn't taste to bad warm. I like cold sake myself. Try Fuki cold, or try a unfiltered sake (it's milky looking) with a few cucumber sticks in it. Just because a sake is expensive doesn't mean it tastes better either, go to a asian supermarket and take a few small bottles thats the best way. Your own sampling party! :)
