Is the word gaijin generally considered offensive, by the way? Doesn't bother me, either way - just wondering.:)

I didn`t particularly feel either way about Vegemite/Marmite. It simply tasted like miso spread on toast. My husband also agreed.

There is a large variety to miso - it`s not all one flavor, and varies quite a bit by region. There are some really really dark varieties, like 八丁, and some very sweet and pale types (can`t think of their names though).
