Mirin in Ontario...?
 

Where can one get mirin in Ontario? I have tried the government-licensed liquor stores, but even their computer system has no trace of it. I can get the aji stuff, but not the real thing.

Any thoughts, please, anyone...?

I tried to find some in Alberta and had no luck either so I ended up making it myself. Its really easy, pretty much just sake and sugar, and the best way to make it is the kansai way (kansai for the win)

Thanks. Bigmanmud. What is the kansai way...? I just tend to add a bit of sake and sugar direct to the recipe. Or use the pretend Kikkoman mirin I have.

The kansai way involves boiling the sake and sugar together to make it. It makes it mix and taste better
