Is there a Substitute for Mirin?
 
Is there a Substitute for Mirin? I looked everywhere in my Grocery stores, and they don't have it in the Asian section of the store. They have Rice cooking wine, Is that the same thing?

Rice cooking wine is not the same thing....mirin is much sweeter

it won't taste the same, but you could always use a teaspoon of sugar and white wine vinegar.
