I did try doing the 'drinking your umeshu slowly' experiment today.
But I'm not a big fan of the smell of sake, so it was kinda hard for me to sip it slowly.

Yes, i know its not for knocking back. =) But I'm a student. my nights out are usually me knocking back various spirits, if i'm in an extra good mood.

Had some horryfying experiences with Sake in Japan.

One was with my private student at home. One day he brought some Sake for our break. The lesson was two hours, the break was after one, we drank this Sake, I supplied the corn chips, I will leave it uo to your imagination what happened to me after he left!

the funniest thing was when he got on his bike to ride home, he fell off leaving the carpark which was on a hill, and smashed his reading glasses.

He emailed me next day, told me he cancelled work on the Monday, his wife was furious.. This is a guy with two children..

Having a day off work for a Panasonic salaryman in Japan, NO WAY!!

Sake and spirits are alright I suppose.

I prefer to drink beer. Pilsener is my favorite.

Best German beer I had :)

Since I never tried Sake I'm gonna have to choose spirits...obviously. Another reason why I'd choose spirits is the variety, which I think, is more larger then sake.
