Kumamoto Drops?

Rewatching Grave of the Fireflies the other day, I had to look and see if those little candies were still being made. To my surprise I found them and there are tons of flavors. Sadly, I have to order them because they don't have them where I live. My question is, has anyone tried any of them and are the flavors actually close to what they say they are?

Never heard of "Kumamoto Drops".

Isn't it "Sakuma Drops" by any chance? If so, they are yummy and they come in retro cans.

We just recently got a whole box of them as a gift. (Big bag of the candies, and a full retro can)

I`m also going to guess you meant Sakuma Drops.

As for tasting like what they`re meant to, well, I`d say they`re as close as the average hard candy.

Funny, I just finished watching that movie again today.

A market kind of close to where I reside sold it one time and never again. They were quite yummy.

Eh, as for flavor I don't remember too well, unfortunately. I remember adoring melon, though.

That is one of them, yes.

Actually, I just looked them up again and there seems to be certain flavors that are specific to certain places in japan.

"Drops" are pretty much generic hard candy.
There is nothing outstanding or special about them, it`s just a name. Those with weird flavors are just a gimmick type thing, just as you can find weird tasting things as a joke outside Japan.

I have never seen anyone actually eating them, and have only seen one or two types as "joke" gifts in tourist places.
