Green Tea Mochi - 08-27-2011, 02:10 PM

Hi,

I bought "Japanese Style Green Tea Mochi" from a local asia store. And now I am wondering if they need any preparation before eating them. I cant find any instructions on the box so I thought they could be eaten just as they are in the box but their taste suggest different

They look like this:

any ideas?

Thanks in advance

They are ready to eat as is.

I have never seen mochi that required preparation.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Yeah, you can eat them straight out of the box. I know they make a sesame and a peanut butter flavor for that brand; I suggest buying those.

I've never seen green tea mochi that needs to be prepared beforehand, but there is mochi that they sell in hard bricks that have to be toasted or boiled before you can eat them (well, I suppose you could eat them hard, but it wouldn't be very fun).

This is just the first Google result that popped up, but you can see a picture of the mochi in their little individual wrappers as well as what they look like on the grill.

I've had some of these(I love my student's union, they have so much awesome stuff)! I got the peanut butter one and it didn't say it needed any preparation, so I just ate it out of the box. Tasted fine to me. :3
