Want to import sausages from Europe to Japan.

Hello,

I want to import sausages (20kg) from Europe to Japan in order to sell them in Tokyo.

Has anybody experience of importing food into Japan in terms of the customs? What are the rules, regulations?

Thank you,
Stefan

As far as I know, all meat products must have quarantine inspection certificate before they are exported from your country.
You should consult with your local quarantine office.

Never actually imported food stuff, but my buddy orders stuff from Grade-A Meat and Cheese delivered to your door in Japan! The Meat Guy all the time and hasn't had any issues with quarantine.

That is because The Meat Guy is a business in Japan that handles all the importing and customs issues. You aren't going to have trouble ordering from a shop that is already in Japan and that already has the stock here.

Yeah, I know. So there are certainly ways to get meat into the country.
