How about Curry Rice?
In a pan, fry ground meat (beef, chicken, pork, you chose) with a little oil. Add vegetables,(green peppers, onions, potatoes(cut into very small pieces since they take longer to cook), cabbage, carrots, etc., again your choice) fry until they soften. Add curry roux (Japanese can be found in most supermarkets in Asian food section) on top and cover until it softens. Add enough water to mix with roux to make sauce. Put on low heat for 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to mix. Serve over white rice. Oishii!

I want to cook something japanese for dinner. My dad is allergic to seafood, so none of that, or if there's a small amount that I can take out of one dish then that's fine. What's your favourite japanese entrée? Recipes too please!

you could always make homemade katsu with pork or chicken fillets, or even dice the chicken, mould into shape, breadcrumb it with egg and cornflour. and fry it?

Serve with rice and curry roux sauce.

I've been wanting some ever since I saw the vid. It looks so good.

hmm... ._.''
something easy and simple???

steamed tofu w/ momiji oroshi, negi and ponzu ^_^

get a block of hard tofu (i prefer "yamasoy" brand)
grate some daikon, strain it (rinse if you want/can), then mix w/ sriracha
finely slice the scallions and drizzle w/ ponzu (you can buy it premade at local supermarket)
steam the tofu till it's cooked all the way through then slice
eat by garnishing w/ the oroshi and ponzu dipped negi
=3

or you can try sliced cabbage w/ tonkatsu sauce x]
that's always fun and yummy (the tonkatsu/croquettes are optional =3)

Stick it in some bread and you have あんぱん. That's the simpliest and yummiest thing I can think of and I do it all the time. It's the poor man's あんぱん!
