Food in Japan - 05-24-2007, 03:14 PM

Well, since I'm gonna travel to Japan and study there in three years I've strated some investigating to get into the daily life there. And so, I was wondering if you guys had any Japanese recipies and dishes who you like and would like to share with me^^ I would really like to know more and get to know a few things to prepare myself before I go. Then I wont feel so lost once there, heehee..^^

Whatever you do, don't use cellphones on the trains. Texting is allowed though. Its common curtisy on trains.

It all depends on quality and what exactly it is you`re eating. Prices vary quite a lot based on the ingredients.

I`d say cheap is 100 yen for the little set of 2 pieces.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Gyudon - Beef bowl. It's basically just thin sliced beef pieces topped over white rice and onion. It's made with a really good sauce. You should try it out sometime. I heard it's really popular in Japan. Try looking it up online. Maybe at about.com. =]

Has anyone heard of Pocky? It's a Japanese sweet. It's kinda like sweetened biscuit sticks dipped in chocolate. They're pretty good. ^^ I like 'em. I wanted to try them 'cuz I've seen them a couple times in manga and stuff, and I finally got my chance! ^^ There are different flavors of Pocky, though. I wanna try the strawberry ones....
