dried fish? - 08-20-2007, 08:02 PM

so I've seen these packages of various kinds of dried fish in the snack aisle at the asian market...and I finally broke down and bought a package of eel the other day.

the whole thing is full of bones...and it's almost not worth eating, my mouth keeps getting stabbed with little shards of bone...it's kinda painful.

so I wanted to see what it's normally used for. is it really a snack, to be eaten like beef jerky? or is it meant to go in a soup or something?

thnx boboloko for the sig!

I think it has to go in a soup or something, look for a site about asian fish or food maybe you'll get some answers there Sorry i'm no fish expert

hummm...dried squid does sound good. but at the same time...it's hard to eat when it hasn't been dried - rubber bands! drying it typically makes the meat tougher...I'm afraid that'll break my teeth.

heh, I'll still probably try it sometime.

thnx boboloko for the sig!
