I am totally new to learning Japanese and was wondering if someone could give me a good site for beginners and what in their opinion is the best method. I do understand that everyone has different views on studying.

I was introduced to Kids Web Japan. Although it's a little childish, I still find it a really good site for learning japanese ^^

I suggest that you get a textbook, it will probably be a lot more efficient.
