Keyboard drama - 01-17-2008, 08:34 PM

I installed the east-asian characters thing for windows and such but my keyboard is completely messed up when i use it, for example i type 'k' and i get the symbol for 'Su'
can anyone help?

Press left ctrl + left shift + CapsLock. This should turn off direct kana input and your keyboard should switch back to romaji input mode.

It doesn't work =( now when i (for example) type in 'j' i don't get the symbol for su but the symbol for zu. with the ten ten <- ? i believe thats what they're called, above it

Maybe i need a nother keyboard?? i'm a computer-idiot sorry if the answer is deadsimple :|

Wow, I didn't about the ctrl+shift+CAPS thing... But playing with it, it's kinda useless if you don't know which key is which symbol.

Besides, mine wants to type in katakana for some reason--and it doesn't seem to want to to go to hiragana :P

Well i looked it up and i found on a site that a japanese keyboard has the symbols 'ta te i su ka n' where our keyboards have 'qwerty'
That's the same for me, when i type qwerty i get the symbols for tateisukan
so i think everything is fine, it's just a little hard to type japanese when i have to memorize where all the symbols are
