simple question about possesive case - 02-10-2008, 12:15 AM

How to tell in Japanese "Manta's big brother (onii-chan)" - "Big brother of Manta"?

It could be "Manta no ani" if you're name is Manta and you're talking about your older brother to someone outside of your family. If you aren't Manta and they aren't in your super close circle (your family and bestest best of friends) then it would be "Mantasan no oniisan"

so debezo, in okinawa would niinii be used by older people aswell? o_o
