Need help with translating - 03-28-2008, 04:38 PM

I think I have an easy question. ^^
So I want to say "I wanna live" but I'm not sure if its meaning is ikite or ikitei.

By the way... Can someone explain the difference of the two words to me?

I think Ikite 生きて! is please live!
生きたい(ikitai) is want to live

白鳥は哀しからずや、空の青、うみのあをにも、染まず ただよふ。
美魚さんは白鳥、僕は青、ぼくらは交わらない

Yeah I think so too because I tried to findit out by myself yesterday and I found out that the "~tai" at the end of a verb means "want to".

But thanks for the help ^^
