The 種　is read しゅ　Or　たね？？

白鳥は哀しからずや、空の青、うみのあをにも、染まず ただよふ。

In that phrase, 種　＝　しゅ because it means 'items/kinds'.

種　is only read たね when it means a 'seed' of a plant or the casue of an event (like a fight).
