It can mean many different things depending on the context, such 'anyhow' and 'after all'.

It should also be remembered that the dictionary 'spelling' of the word is どうせ. The elongation bar 'ー' is used only in katakana, strictly speaking. In casual writing, however, you do see it used in hiragana, too.

Well, I am starting a local magazine for games, anime, manga and such things, and all I wanted to know is, what is the Japanese word for 'Exclusive'?

I was planning on making this the title of my magazine, because I simply can't find an english word that sounds decent. Any help with telling me the romaji and kanji would be much appreciated.

The word used most often in magazines in Japan is:

独占! = Dokusen

It's usually followed by the exclamation mark to catch the attention of the prospective reader.

Never heard it myself. Any context to go with it?

There's らしき meaning 'just like...' but it's never written in katakana.

XXXらしき人 = person that I believe to be XXX

OK. I now know.

It is ラッキー, not ラシキー.

ラッキーだよなあ = Man, how lucky you are (I am, he is.....)!

首を落とす = to chop someone's head off

兄程度 = same level as (someone's) older brother << context would be of help with this one
