Hello, me again with another dumb question!
I would like to be able to say the phrase: "Tonight I am playing football [soccer]" Unfortunately I do not know the Japanese words for 'tonight', 'playing/will play' or 'soccer'. I guess it should be something like: Tonight wa football o playing/will play. Anyone got the answer? Thank you! |

I guess it would be something like... Konya watashi wa shuukyuu (I think this is the word for soccer) o shimasu. Or to make it less wordy...I think you could say... Konya wa shuukyuu o shimasu. |

Hey, thanks very much! I thought that 'shimasu' was the word for 'doing/will do' though? Unless it has multiple meanings? I guess 'Tonight I will do soccer' does kinda make sense though!
I just assumed there would be a word for 'playing/will play'.Sorry, I do not mean to be unappreciative, it's just that I like to understand things completely! ![]() EDIT: Okay I have just written the following sentence in reply to my friend's question: -blah, blah,blah....What are you doing tomorrow? - Ah, Ii desu ne. Konya wa shuukyuu o shimasu. Ashita wa terebei de eiga o mimasu. Ah, that's nice. Tonight I am playing football. Tomorrow I am watching a film on televeision. |
