tori means bird and other things, but that's not how it works. that's what katakana is for, spelling things phonetically (by the sounds/prounciation of foreign words).

Tori means bird, so I guess your first name is bird, not sure about lampert. Had a Japanese friend with the last name Lambert though.

Let's be clear. In Japanese "tori" does not mean bird. 鳥 means bird. I make the distinction because she isn't going to spell her name 鳥 in Japanese, it will be トリ (or トーリ depending in taste). If she says "My name is Tori" almost no one will thing "Her name means bird"

Tori means Bird in Japanese (with the right Kanji as well, like MMM showed you). But your name doesn't mean Bird. Sorry!

In English, my names means "Gift of God".

In Japanese, my name means "Dramatic White Asshole".

Still, the Japanese meaning has a nice ring to it.

Name, meaning not matter  to translate. You are mak e name anything. Your nam e is Tori, in Japanese, a nything, not matter. Tori  can be bird if you like.  Tori can be anything, be cause different language.  But direct, トリ、 or とり。My  name not understand for  English. 美浜 in English, i s ??? So one day I choose g ood American name. If dic tionary,says ”beautiful b each”, no understand.If d irect, for you,トリ or とり f or me, mihama. So, your n ame, anything you like.
