Simple Flash Cards. - 03-05-2009, 03:51 AM

So...This should probably be in the help thread...buuut, I need specific help.
I made cards for all the kana, and then some simple words...Though, I'm not sure if they are spelled correctly. so heres the list:
もも momo
いぬ inu
のこ neko
すし sushi
ときょ tokyo

Thats just how I spelled them. (sorry about the romaji.)

Also, if anyone has suggestions for more simple, short words for me to use, that would be welcome.

Thanks!

Are you asking for corrections here? If so, here you go.

のこ > ねこ

ときょ > とうきょう <--- This one clearly shows that you're addicted to romaji. Forget romaji or it will greatly slow down your Japanese learning process.

I'd go one step further, start learning Kanji from the get go. Putting off the pain is only going to make it worse later.

寿司
東京

I never seen 東京 written as とうきょう anywhere in Japan. Maybe I'm blind.

Ask a first-grader.

Kids who haven't learned the kanji for 東京 write it とうきょう in kana. They don't write it ときょ. The pronunciation will be completely different.

Besides, how do you even type 東京? You don't press T-O-K-Y-O, do you? That won't give you 東京.

What I meant was I never seen Tokyo written in Hiragana in Japan. Okay I haven't been to grade one primary school, maybe that's why.

Ahh yes the station signs, of course!
