Memorizing literature in Japanese

Do you think memorizing Japanese Literature will aid me in speaking and writing Japanese. I can write in Japanese but not to the level I want. What do you think?

Nope. It'd help your reading comprehension, though.

You improve your Japanese speaking and writing abilities by, well.. speaking and writing. Memorizing literature isn't going to help with that at all.

Go ahead if you can read what I'm writing below without any problems. I warn you, reading and memorising literature will be much more difficult.

:ywave:

I changed the title of this thread to better reflect the content.

Ah okay thanks for the info.

To Nagoyankee:

I don't know if you misunderstood what I meant in my post. What I was trying to find out if by memorizing literature, my knowledge of kanji and sentence structure, etc. would benefit from it. I don't mean no disrespect in this post, I'm just trying to elaborate what I meant. Next time, I will myself more clear. Thank you. :)
