small つ - 04-06-2009, 04:11 PM

What's it mean when a sentence has one syllable smaller than it usually is? I keep on seeing つ but it's smaller and I don't think people pronounce it the same? What is that?

That example made 0 sense to me? :S

The "chisai tsu" means you do a little pause before the next syllable (or to make the next one a short one)

Like my name (Ash) is アッシュ because the シュ is a short shound.

Ok, I think that answers my question. By Chisai Tsu you mean the small tsu? That's what I was talking about in my first post

Ah, I see. When a different syllable is like that, does it change? Like does it still mean to pause or make that a short sound?

darksyndrem,

You're questions are great, but please try and title the threads something besides "another question".
