Help me with 2 name translations - 07-14-2009, 05:19 PM

Hello all!

I have problem with 2 names that i try to translate. I have been trying to see whats right using the online translators but the give me different versions.

First name is Kenny
I have seen 2 version on this name.
ケンイ
ケニー
Witch one is the most correct one?

And then i have the nickname of my girlfriend Sissi.
シシー
シシ
Witch one of thouse to are the correct one?

If you have any better suggestion then please let me know. The names are going to be cut out from a plastic board and then lighten up by leds from the sides, mabye anoter way of typeing teh names would look better?

ケニー and シシー are the natural choices for us native speakers.

ケンイ looks and sounds SO out of the question. シシ sounds too funny because it's an old word for "lion" in Japanese.

Thank you for the fast reply!

Is there any other way to write the names, like with "word" letters so the names get some kind of meaning?

Another question... i'm gonna write the names from top to bottom but on programs like photoshop twist the last letter so that it looks like this (using an I so whow the "look" of it)

I

Should it not look like this?

Do you mean "kanji", the Chinese characters? If so, no. We have created the katakana so that we can write you guys' names. Now, some people may be responding "Oh yes, they can be written in kanji." I assure you that none of them will be fluent Japanese-speakers.

The second one is NOT good. When we write vertically, we write the elongation bar vertically as well.
