how do i say this,.....? - 09-14-2009, 06:47 AM

The other day I saw a bunch of rappers in a cypher downtown. Sadly i didnt have my mobile recorder with me so I couldnt record them. Now I havent seen them since, but I did locate one guy who works in a local clothing store.

his english sucks, my japanese is even worse.

so how would you go about saying this:

a - I am thinking of making a mixtape with local MC's freestyling so I would like to record you and your crew freestyling if thats ok.

b - can we set up a day and time when we can get together with as many mc's as possible?

bii - are there any regular cyphers in town?

and this one is rather important:

c - I want it to be as raw, as quirky, as weird, as nasty and as dirty as you can make it. (or whatever the japanese equivalent would be.)

I assume certain words are the same as in english,.... MC, cypher, freestyle, mixtape, just japanified in pronounciation.

romaji or hiragana would be great as i'm still crap with kanji.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

trunker.

a cypher is the circle that mc's get into where one would freestyle after another. i've heard the term genba used before too but i think that might be for a bigger thing like in a club.

i think they would know what a "saifaa" is though.

現場 means "place of action" or "scene of the crime" (so to speak)

You realize, my man, if you can't figure out how to say these in Japanese, you won't be able to understand the responses.

oddly enough i can understand quite a bit for some reason, its just the forming of sentances i have a trouble with. yeah slacking in my japanese studies haha.

i could probably get by with my broken japanese, but i thought there might be something better than what i'm planning on going with which is:

nagasaki no mc no freestyle o recordo shitai.

sorekara freestyle mixtape o shimasu ( or tsukurimasu? )

what do you lot think?

I can identify with that.

You can probably get by without saying "nagasaki no MC no", simply because you're IN Nagasaki so it's obvious where, and you're talking to and hanging out with MC's, so it's obvious who. Like MMM has said elsewhere in the past, Japanese has a habit of dropping subjects, especially if they're implicit.

And it would probably be "tsukurimasu", or "tsukuritai", since that means you want to make something.

Good luck!
