Apparantly the jumps between JLPT1, JLPT 2 and JLPT 3 was so large they've recently decided to add extra levels in between. I don't think they're in effect yet though?

So they are going to go the route of the Eiken... 準2級, 準1級? Not too much of a surprise though - I never took 3 so I can`t comment on the gap between it and 2, but 2 to 1 is a huge gap.

Looks like they`re going to seriously change the test next year... Hmm, I wonder if it will have any effect on previous scores.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

JLPT 1.5? Is this something new?

Japanese universities require JLPT 1 for enrollment if they don`t have an international program (which will sometimes accept 2 if you`re going to be studying Japanese there) or handle the foreign student Japanese exam thing. (Forget the name.) JLPT 3 would mean nothing inside Japan.
Yes, I think I heard there's a JLPT1.5 now or something like that. And that's surprising that universities require you to take JLPT3 at some point. Perhaps it's by location? I mean, I would have had to fly hundreds of miles and around 10 hours just to take the JLPT3. That's too pricey for undergrads. Thank God I didn't have to do that. I've never heard of such a requirement before.
