Translation help - 04-06-2010, 07:26 AM

Hi, I came across some words that I don't understand. Please help me out!
1. 五条京極 (is this a town name?)
2. 毎日がさびしくてたまらず What does bold font words mean in the sentence? I only understand the part where the person is lonely. Could someone explain the grammar of those words?

Thank you so much!

1. Not exactly a town. It's a section of the present-day Kyoto.

2. The base word is たまらない. たまらず is its continuative form. It means "unbearable", "intolerable", "can't stand", etc.
