I'm confused. What does this mean? When I read it, I think it means you know someone who designed the website. But your last sentence asks for the person's email, so that makes me think you don't know them.

I must just not understand what "I have a contact on the website" means. Please clarify.

I frequent a website ("YYY") that contains an error that Mr. "XXX" publicly said he was concerned about. The admin on the website (not the same as XXX) is asking for Mr. XXX's email address.
