That is a strange question because the line "You... You made it. You made the bloody rain fall." has already been translated from the original.

I've no idea what the original is but one possibility would be something along the lines of:

「お、お前やったなぁ。血の雨を降らせた。」

I doubt it was originally 血の雨. "Bloody rain" most likely is, in this case, British slang for "fuckin' rain" as opposed to literally being "rain made out of blood." If I'm wrong, then the person who wrote the English script is probably not a very good writer, as the sentence sounds awkward if it means "rain made of blood."

But are you aware that 血の雨 doesn't mean "rain made out of blood" from the beginning?

No, I am not, and that's a good point.

My edit of my previous post came too late. It's possible it means "rain made out of blood," but if it does in this case, then the person who wrote the English version of the script or translator is likely not a very good writer. (It just sounds slightly awkward to say "you made the bloody rain fall" if "bloody rain" means "rain made of blood.")

I wish I still had my Kenshin videos; I'd go check! But I haven't watched any anime in years. I think the last thing I watched was maybe in 2004 or 2005.

It is possible that the translator went too literal.

血の雨を降らせる is just a "tough" way of saying "to win a fight by a landslide".

That sounds more reasonable based on my experience watching Ruroni Kenshin.

Now if only I could reach the level of Japanese you, Sashimister, Nagoyankee, and others have of English, I'd be golden.

Well, it's because i didn't find the quote in japanese, only in english.
It's really a rain made of blood.

YouTube - Rurouni Kenshin OAV (Samurai X - Trust): Kenshin Meets Tomoe (near 2:00)

Yup, 血の雨. masaegu was correct. In that case, I'll stand by my statement that the translator made an awkward English sentence. Grammatically correct, but awkward. I think the translator tried too hard to translate literally. What is it, 逐語訳, right?

She says 「あなたはほんとに降らせるのです、血の雨を。」.
