How to look-up kanji?

If there's a Japanese word I don't know how to pronounce because of the kanji. How do I look it up?

Copy-pasta unto an online dictionary. Here's one.

If you can't copy-pasta (source is on written paper or in a digital image), then use Microsoft IME Pad to 'draw' the kanji character. Or its Mac/Linux equivalent.

If that fails, switch the IME Pad to either stroke number or radical mode, then look up the character.

This may be a useful resource.

If that doesn't work either, refer to an online kanji dictionary, like this one.

If the font is too small and you can't make sense out of the character no matter what you do (can't read the individual strokes), then post the relevant image on a forum like this one. Ask for help.
